dc.description.abstract | Purpose: This study examines the effects of remote work in the post-COVID-19 period on
worker productivity and satisfaction in the software development sector in Ho Chi Minh City,
Vietnam.
Methodology: 324 software developers participated in a survey to examine the effects of work life balance and employee satisfaction, the moderating influence of tools and technology in
team communication, and the relationship between productivity and remote work. The data
was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).
Findings: The results reveal a positive relationship between remote work and employee
productivity, mediated by the use of information and communication tools and technology.
However, team collaboration did not significantly moderate this relationship. Additionally,
remote work positively influenced work-life balance, which in turn enhanced job satisfaction.
Implications: These results provide insightful information for businesses looking to maximize
remote work arrangements and foster worker wellbeing in the post-pandemic period.. The
study suggests that companies should invest in tools and technology to support remote work
and consider hybrid models that balance flexibility with collaboration.
Originality/Value: By offering industry-specific insights into how remote work affects worker
productivity and satisfaction in the Vietnamese software development context, this study adds
to the expanding body of information on the subject | en_US |
