Workforce Scheduling Problem: A Case Study Of Tiki Ecommerce Vietnam
Abstract
In order to provide an ideal solution for a workforce scheduling problem in the actual
world, scheduling approaches must be applied. This study addresses the workforce
planning problem at Tiki, an e-commerce platform, which is overwhelmed in staffing
allocation. The objective is to optimize scheduling by minimizing the number of
employees required, reducing disparities in total work hours, and maximizing
employee days off, thus ensuring efficient resource utilization and promoting
employee satisfaction. The research methodology involves formulating a mathematical
model using IBM CPLEX Solver, which considers various constraints and objectives
to achieve the desired scheduling outcomes. The results indicate that the proposed
methodology effectively addresses the workforce scheduling challenges Tiki faces and
provides a specific schedule board for each employee over a period of time that
optimizes resource allocation and improves operational efficiency.
