dc.description.abstractSnubnose pompano (Trachinotus blochii, Lacepede 1801) is a new potential species in the Vietnam aquaculture. However, the preliminary study on the biology and seed production of this species have not study yet, especially hatching process. In this study, the effects of salinity, water exchange rate and incubation density on embryonic development and hatching rate of snubnose pompano are carried out in replicated experiment. Salinity experiment has 5 treatments (20 ‰, 25‰, 30‰, 35‰, 40 ‰). Water exchange rate experiment has 5 treatments (0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%). Incubation density experiment has 5 treatments (1500 eggs/L, 3000 eggs/L, 4500 eggs/L, 6000 eggs/L and 7500 eggs/L). The analytical methods in this experiment are hatching rate and deformity rate. The salinity, water exchange rate and incubation density have the differences statically significant in enhancing hatching rate (p<0.05). The deformity rates of all treatments in each experiments have the differences not statistically significant (p>0.05). The experiment was successful to combined 3 optimal conditions in increasing hatching rate and decreasing deformity rate. This study reports an incubation system of the combined trial that has the result of hatching rate more than 80% of snubnose pompano eggs. Beside, this study does the embryonic development of snubnose pompano, small aspect of histology. These findings are expected to improve hatching process of snubnose pompano and other commercial species. Keywords: pompano, Trachinotus blochii, salinity, water exchange, densityen_US
