Optimizing the PCR process to identify Candida spp. species
Abstract
Fungi that can cause disease include ringworm and yeast. Currently, Candida fungus is
gradually becoming popular in Vietnam. It often causes diseases of the skin and
mucous membranes in the form of thrush, vulvovaginitis, paronychia, etc. There are
many commonly developed methods for distinguishing Candida spp. Such as: Germ
tube test or Kit Rapid Yeast Plus or Chromogen Candida, ... However, these methods
can take a long time to get results or sometimes there will be errors leading to incorrect
treatment indications, Quickly and promptly. For the PCR method, the advantage is
that it gives fast and highly accurate results, helping to improve the efficiency of
medical examination and treatment for patients. This paper discusses the development
and optimization of a procedure for the detection of Candida spp. Using Direct PCR
method to shorten species identification time while bringing high accuracy and saving
time for patients. Compare results between methods to evaluate the effectiveness of
this optimization process. Then, sequenced to examine specificity.
