Factors affecting the perceived employability of business administration students in Ho Chi Minh city
Abstract
Purpose – The aim of this study is to identify the most determinants of the perceived
employability of Business Administration students in schools in Ho Chi Minh City and
examine their impact on students’ self-perception.
Design/methodology/approach – This study is predicated on data collected from
responses to a web survey of over 400 students and alumni of Business Administration from
various educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City. Descriptive statistics, EFA,
Bootstrapping, T-test, and path analyzes were performed to check the model by structural
equation modeling method.
Findings – The self-perception of Business Administration students and alumni in
HCMC is set by experience, adaptability skills, student satisfaction, reputation of the
institution's BA program, and job search efforts, social relationships. The results could inform
students and educators about improvable areas of employability enhancement.
Originality/value – This study fills a niche in employability research by providing a
quantitative explanation of the relationships between employability and their key predictors
from different perspectives.
