Vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery: A case study of Dash Logistic Company
Abstract
This thesis is aim to develop a practical vehicle routing model for a Dash Logistic Company.
Dash Logistic is a Third Party Logistic company that aim to provide quality and reliable domestic trucking and delivery services in Vietnam. The major concern of the Company is how capacitated vehicles must be routed to minimize the cost of transportation as well as complete all the customer requests. In addition vehicle routes must also satisfy the vehicle capacity constraint for mixed pickups and deliveries. Furthermore we also have a constraint that limit the total travel distance for each vehicle. Therefore this thesis will focus on the vehicle routing problem (VRP) that particular for pickup and delivery. The goal is to provide Dash Logistic company's decision makers with a model and tool to implement pickup and delivery vehicle routing optimization models in logistics.
The main limitations of this thesis are some cases that happen in vehicle routing problem such as time window, split delivery, dynamic problem are not considered.
