Scheduling for jobshop: A case study in wood manufacturing plant of Scancom Vietnam
Abstract
Currently speaking in Vietnam, some factories only make weekly production schedule based on monthly or quarterly delivery plan. And production team-leaders or supervisors will be responsible for specific machine scheduling. Therefore lacking of professional experience on production knowledge such as capacity and line balancing, bottle-neck shifting, can lead to late products delivery. Motivated by this reason, this paper was created and mainly focus on using Job-shop modelcombined withcommitted deliverytime to provide optimal schedule for machine in order to ensure the minimized make span, short cycle time, and maximized utilization; while maintaining an on time committed delivery plan. Some certain heuristic algorithms in Job-shop model will be appliedto shuffle through a set of created schedules, ultimately picking out an optimal solution based on specific criteria. This method will be applied and validated in a real case at Scancom - a furniture production company.
