dc.description.abstract | Knowledge is critical resource and the source of competitive advantage of companies.
It is very hard to capture, utilize and share because most of it is stored in people’s mind and
embedded in processes, technologies and systems. Knowledge sharing is the main way to
make employees’ knowledge become more applicable and profitable knowledge. Then it
becomes company’s intellectual property. This research investigates the difficulties of
knowledge sharing which is caused by many barriers. The survey of 204 employees in more
than 60 Software companies in Ho Chi Minh City is collected in this empirical study. This
study applied the structural equation modeling (SEM) to investigate the research model. The
result shows that barriers come from strategy, facility, technology and individual employees.
Although there are still many barriers, most of employees in Software industry share their
knowledge with colleagues.
