dc.description.abstract | This thesis examines the impacts of microcredit provided by official microfinance institutions on living conditions of low income households in Ho Chi Minh City from 2009 to 2015. The low income households include poor and pro-poor households according to the City‟s poverty line. The change in income, savings, expenditure on education, employment, housing and hygienic conditions are investigated by using t-test and in-depth interview. The t-test results show that there is significant increase in income and savings of the interviewed households. Positive impacts are also recognized in other living conditions.
