The Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) is an emerging technology of information systems (IS). In simple words the ERP system integrates an organization’s resources and also involves business processes and organizational changes. With the growth of IS investment, ERP systems implementation grows strongly. More and more companies adopted ERP systems. The expensive nature of these systems requires that effective usage of these systems be attained in order for an organization to derive the expected benefits from the technology. This stu dy presents an extension to the technology acceptance model (TAM) and empirically examines it in ERP implementation environments. The study evaluated the two widely recognized technology implementation success factors (training and communication) on the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use during technology implementation. Using data gathered from the implementation of ERP system, the study showed that both training and project communication influence the perceived usefulness and ease of use of the technology. Thus, this study provided empirical and theoretical support for the use of managerial interventions, such as training and communication, to influence the acceptance of technology, since perceived usefulness and ease of use contribute to behavioral intention to use the technology.
