dc.description.abstract | The application of scheduling methods is vital to develop an optimal solution to a realworld workforce scheduling issue. This paper addresses the scheduling problem domain
from cost-saving projects, which play an important role in maintaining business operations
during the period of world economic crisis. Two main objective functions are minimizing
the overall hiring, firing and training cost and optimizing the coordination of scheduling
for employees while minimizing the difference of total working hours between employees.
The main resource as well as the main constraint is skilled-workforce. The mathematical
model of phase 1 is developed to propose a feasible solution for the first objective. Besides,
phase 2 includes a mathematical model giving solutions for the second objective. All
models of two phases are solved by CPLEX software to find out the optimal solution. | en_US |
