An optimization approach for scheduling wine grape harvest operations with multi objectives
Abstract
The majority of new businesses seek to satisfy customer demand for product
quality while operating with minimal and reasonable expenses. Especially when
a startup company has limited capital to develop and focuses on a niche market
(in this case, the wine industry), stricter quality standards are required than ever
before. This study aims to achieve these two objectives. This paper proposes and
solves a model for optimizing the harvesting schedule using linear programming
in order to provide a complete picture of market success, some solutions from the
perspective of business acumen will be proposed alongside engineering solutions.
