Exploring The Impacts Of Eco-Innovation And Green Organizational Culture On Organizational Performance In The Public Sector's View.
Abstract
Given the blossoming of eco-innovation in various industries, the public sector
also shifts its focus to this phenomenon. Their interest is not only in eco-innovation
practices but also in the reciprocal relationships between green organizational culture – the
foundation facility of bringing innovation into reality operations and organizational
performance. Hence, the study examines the complex relationships among eco-innovation
practices, organizational performance, and green organizational culture in Vietnam’s
public sector, drawing on the literature on resource-based view theory which illustrates the
role of organizational resources utilization to create and sustain competitiveness and
success. Based on previous research, these hypotheses in this study benefit the motivations
and solutions of eco-innovation and green organizational culture to facilitate the
organizations' sustainability of success. Analyzing data from 200 individuals at public
organizations, the study employs a partial least squares-structural equation model (PLS SEM) to reveal significant positive associations between eco-innovation practices (eco process innovation and eco-organizational innovation), and organizational green culture on
organizational performance. The study highlights the pivotal role of eco-innovation in the
improvement of organizational performance. Additionally, green organizational culture
contributes to organizational performance through its positive impacts on eco-innovation
practices. Moreover, it offers practical implications for enhancing eco-innovation, and
green organizational culture, to help foster a culture of green innovation in Vietnam’s
public sector.
